DAS Bookbinding

Over 30 years ago Darryn did an "Introduction to Bookbinding" course, found he enjoyed the experience and continued with it for the next decade, focusing on binding and restoration of case bound books plus making boxes and slip cases. Then as life got busy he took a break but a few years ago realised that he really missed bookbinding. Coming back, he approached it with a different focus, concentrating on the historical context of both the craft and the trade. Many things had changed, artists’ books were now very popular and conservation and restoration methods had evolved. As well as delving into the history, DAS Bookbinding provides online and in-person bookbinding lessons and tutorials on YouTube which have a world-wide following. He also offers a small range of specialised bookbinding tools and materials for sale.
