What's on in Auckland

Location: Howick Historic Village
ABOUT US:
The story of the Auckland Regional Bindery
For many years the bindery of the Association of Book Crafts (New Zealand) Inc operated out of the MOTAT environment and worked very closely with the printers, providing a location for binders and those interested in the art of bookbinding and book arts. During Covid and up to September 2023 the entire bindery was packed up in storage while MOTAT focused on revitalising the print shop.
In September 2023 a group of members of the Association of Book Crafts undertook to see if we could get the bindery back in operation and offer a space whereby members and the public can enjoy the use of the equipment and facilities. We are now proud to say that the transition (albeit 9 months later) is now over. The bindery is set up, ready to start and be a central focus of the Auckland ABC members and anyone who has an interest in the art of bookbinding. The Bindery is free to use for members of the ABC.
